This is not my mom, but it typifies the type of mother I had. She was energetic, positive, and always cheering me on. My mom passed away from cancer when I was 18 years old. It was obviously a very hard time for me but even still my mom managed to teach me so many lessons. Her last words were, “I love you”, which has impacted me still today. Isn’t that what it’s all about anyway?
My mom also had high expectations for me and taught me to never settle for average, but to reach for excellence in all I do. I hope to be a parent that impacts my children as much as she impacted me. To moms everywhere, happy Mother’s Day. The world is a better place because of you.
